ROCHESTER – Mayfield graduate Jade Woodend, a junior on the Hartwick women’s swimming and diving team, was recently named the Empire 8 Women’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week.
Woodend won two events for the Hawks in their final dual meet of the season against Stevens Institute of Technology on Feb. 16 at Moyer Pool. She won the 50 freestyle (24.55) and the 100 freestyle (53.91) individual events. Woodend also placed second in the 100 butterfly (1:00.68) and was part of the 200 medley relay team that came in second place as she swam a 50 butterfly split time of 26.88.
The Hartwick women ended the regular season with a record of 12-3.
