Barnhill named first-team Foothills Council all-star

Gloversville’s Asa Barnhill was the area’s lone first-team selection on the Foothills Council boys basketball all-star team.

Barnhill, a junior, averaged 13.4 points per game for the Dragons this season. Gloversville finished with a 7-12 overall record.

Scotia-Glenville’s Joe Cremo was named the league’s Most Valuable Player.

Also named to the first team were Scotia-Glenville’s Andrew Tabbert, Queensbury’s Charlie Peltz, Glens Falls’ Cam Girard and Scotia-Glenville’s Alex Sausville.

Gloversville’s Hunter Goodwin, a junior, was named a second-team all-star. Goodwin averaged 8.9 points per game for the Dragons this season.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Ben Bellandi, a senior, also was named to the second team. The Patriots finished the season with a 9-11 overall record. Bellandi averaged 10.7 points per game for B-P.

Also named to the second team were South Glens Falls’ Luke VanDixhorn, Glens Falls’ Lee Girard and South Glens Falls’ Ricky Buser.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Andre Taylor was named to the third team. Taylor, a junior, averaged 10.5 points per game for the Patriots.

Also named to the third team were Scotia-Glenville’s Dom LaMorta, Queensbury’s Troy Kelly, Glens Falls’ Mike LaNoir and South Glens Falls’ Josh Hay.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Bellandi and Mark Sylvia also were selected for the Foothills Council Senior Game, along with Gloversville’s Zech Brown and Kevin Johnston. Johnstown’s Mike Everest and Jerry Groom also were selected for the senior game.
