ITHACA – Mayfield graduate D.J. Hoagboon and Fonda-Fultonville graduate Josh Nethaway are both playing for the University at Albany baseball team.
Hoagboon had a single in a 4-1 win over Cornell in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday, while Nethaway drew three walks.
In the second game, Hoagboon had an RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Big Red.
On Saturday, Albany (7-11 overall) split a doubleheader with the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. The Great Danes lost the first game 4-3 and won the second game 13-1.
Nethaway was 3-for-6 in the second game for Albany, while Hoagboon was 3-for-3 in the second game after registering one hit in the opener. Nethaway finished the second game with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Hoagboon had a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Nethaway is hitting .258 in 18 games this season with 17 hits, 10 runs scored, six doubles and 13 RBIs. Hoagboon is hitting .242 with 16 hits, 11 runs scored, three doubles and 10 RBIs.
