Fishing contest slated for Saturday

NORTHAMPTON – The Great Sacandaga Lake Fisheries Federation will host its 16th annual spring fishing contest Saturday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

With a new location for the spring event, the measuring station and awards presentations, will be at the Sport Island Pub, which is located on Riverside Boulevard in the Sacandaga Park in the town.

Lunch and dinner will be available.

The entry fee will be $15 for the contest if pre-registered by Friday or $18 on the day of the event.

Registration will take place until 10 a.m. Saturday.

No registration will be accepted after 10 a.m. Children 12-and-younger will be free, with participating adult.

Fishing is allowed anywhere on the Great Sacandaga Lake. All New York state game laws apply.

There will be a $300 award for first, $150 for second and $50 for third.

Awards will be given for pike, walleye and trout.

All fish, placed by measurement length, must be in by 4 p.m.
