The Huskies rebounded from a 5-1 loss to South Glens Falls in their home opener on Wednesday.
Justin Putnam led the Gloversville hitters with two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored. Mike Fancher added a double and a single plus two runs scored and an RBI. Kevin Johnston doubled and drove in two runs, while Rockefeller helped his cause with a single, RBI and a run scored.
Phil Wettersten and Brett Rodriguez both doubled for Queensbury.
Wettersten, Erik Wettersten, Chris Pontiff and Mike Lawson combined to strike out 11 Gloversville batters for the Spartans.
Although the Huskies were charged with seven errors, Demagistris said “We played sound baseball. I am proud of the way we bounced back from yesterday’s loss. The guys came here ready to play and win against a highly successful Queensbury team. This was a big win for our program.”
