FONDA – Nolan Duda had the game-winning RBI in the top of the 11th, singling home Ben Brown to lift Albany Academy to a 2-1 win over Fonda-Fultonville in a Colonial Council baseball game Tuesday.
The Cadets scored the game’s first run in the top of the sixth when Kyle Lancto scored on a groundout.
Fonda-Fultonville answered in the bottom of the sixth when a double by Baylee Hall scored Kevin Twardzik to tie the game at 1-1.
The score remained the same until Duda’s single in the top of the 11th.
Brown pitched nine innings for the Cadets (7-5 overall, 6-4 Colonial), striking out 14 and allowing just four hits. Trevor Francesconi earned the win for Albany Academy, pitching two innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit.
Francesconi also earned the win in the Cadets’ 3-0 win over Fonda-Fultonville in Albany on April 8.
Zak Shaw pitched 10 innings for the Braves, striking out nine and allowing five hits. Zack Valachovic took the loss for the Braves.
Valachovic also had a double for the Braves.
Fonda-Fultonville (6-4 overall, 5-3 Colonial) will travel to Mechanicville on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
