FONDA – Chris Amorosi had a solo home run in the first inning, leading Schalmont to a 3-0 win over Fonda-Fultonville in a Colonial Council baseball game Wednesday.

Jimmy Hamilton had an RBI single in the fourth inning for the Sabres (11-4 overall, 8-4 Colonial), while John Pascarella had an RBI single in the seventh inning.

Zak Shaw had two hits for FFCS (6-7 overall, 5-6 Colonial). Shaw also took the loss for the Braves, allowing five hits.

CANAJOHARIE – Fort Plain scored five runs in the sixth inning and 11 in the seventh inning on its way to a win over Canajoharie.

Marcus Failing pitched six innings to earn the win on the mound, improving to 6-0 on the season. Failing also had two singles, a three-run home run, four RBIs and three runs scored for the Hilltoppers, while Dakota Nemecek had three singles, a double, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Chris Hanifin had a single, double, an RBI and three runs scored for Fort Plain (14-2 overall, 13-0 WAC), while Trent Douglas had two singles and four RBIs.

Karl Gustafson had a triple, an RBI and two runs scored for Canajoharie (7-6 overall, 7-6 WAC), while Matt Shannon had an RBI and a single.

QUEENSBURY – Charlie Peltz pitched his second no-hitter in as many games, leading Queensbury to a shutout win.

Peltz struck out 14 and walked one to earn the complete game win for the Spartans (11-4 overall, 9-2 Foothills). Peltz also had an RBI single for Queensbury.

Eric Daley had two singles and two RBIs for the Spartans, while Reed Farrier added an RBI single.

Glens Falls slipped to 4-7 in Foothills Council play.

Dolgeville sweeps doubleheader

OLD FORGE – Dolgeville had seven hits in both games as it swept a doubleheader at Old Forge. The Blue Devils won the first game 9-3 and the second game 11-3.

In the first game, Mackenzie Ferguson, Kasey Foster, Alex Johnson and Danny Fox all had doubles for the Blue Devils. Foster also earned the win on the mound for Dolgeville (6-7 overall, 4-5 CSC).

Zack McGough had two doubles for Old Forge (0-11 overall, 0-8 CSC).

In the second game, Foster had a triple for the Blue Devils who scored five times in the second inning on their way to the win.

Ferguson added a double for Dolgeville.
