Canajoharie splits season opener

CANAJOHARIE – The Canajoharie golf team split its season opener Wednesday at Canajoharie Country Club.

The Cougars posted a 11 1/2-3 1/2 win over Fort Plain and lost 12-3 to Saratoga Central Catholic.

Fort Plain dropped a 15-0 decision to Saratoga Catholic.

Saratoga Catholic’s Dylan Seeber had the low round of the day with a 43. Andrew Welcome posted a 44 for the Saints, while Colin Bradley carded a 49.

Buck Anderson and Michael Balfe each had rounds of 51 to lead Canajoharie, while Aristotle Boslet and Sam Shostek each had a 59.

McKay Nar led Fort Plain with a 57.
