AHS girls swim team loses opener

AMSTERDAM – Albany won eight of 12 events on its way to a 106-67 win over Amsterdam in a girls swim meet at Lynch Literacy Academy on Tuesday.

Olivia Stebbins-Hopkins won the 100-yard backstroke and 200 individual medley for Albany, while Molly Cantwell (50 freestyle), Elana Cohen (1-meter diving) and Olivia Hampson (200 freestyle) also posted wins.

Albany also won the 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.

Kayla Dzikowicz won the 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle for Amsterdam, while Justin Youngs (100 butterfly) and Mianna Conti (100 freestyle) also posted wins.
