AHS girls tennis suffers first loss

TROY – Emma Willard won five of six singles contests and two of three doubles contests on its way to a 7-2 win over Amsterdam in a non-league girls tennis match Friday.

Claire Schmitz, Sam Blond, Kailin Baechie, Grace Smith and Cami Guerrero DeBlois all won singles matches for the Jesters.

Josephine Wray and Ava Xu won at No. 2 doubles for Emma Willard, while Mayura Balakrishnan/Fernanda Lemmen Meyer won at No. 3 doubles.

Gabby DiSalvi won at No. 6 singles for Amsterdam (3-1 overall), while Tessa Filiberto and Prabha Singh won at No. 1 doubles.
