Boys Soccer Roundup: Queensbury blanks Gloversville

QUEENSBURY – Four different players scored as Queensbury blanked Gloversville, 4-0, in a Foothills Council boys soccer contest Monday.

Liam Mulshine, Cole Crotty, Alliston McFarlane and Jayson Mullen all scored for the Spartans.

Eric Paige, Preston Hendrick and Greg Weeks each had an assist for Queensbury (5-0 overall, 3-0 Foothills).

Tyler Raymond finished with one save to earn the shutout win in goal for the Spartans.

Gloversville slipped to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in Foothills Council play.

South Glens Falls 7, Hudson Falls 0

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Devin Hazewski scored twice to lead South Glens Falls to a shutout win over Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council contest.

Tristan Morey, Andrew Nygard, Richard Morgan, Collin Farry and Alex Potter also scored for the Bulldogs (2-3 overall, 2-1 Foothills)

Jace Lenon had two assists for South Glens Falls, while Robert Olsen and Brian Scimeca each had one assist.

Evan Brooks made two saves to earn the shutout win in goal for the Bulldogs.

Northville 4, Fort Plain 1

FORT PLAIN – Wolfgang Reinke scored twice to lead Northville to a win over Fort Plain.

David Onzo and Jacob Junquera also scored for the Falcons, while Tyler Henderson and Danny Reidell each had an assist.

Aiden VanLoan scored the lone goal for Fort Plain (1-2 overall, 1-2 WAC).

Tim Monette made seven saves to earn the win in goal for Northville (3-0 overall, 3-0 WAC).

James May finished with 10 saves for the Hilltoppers.

Galway 3, Canajoharie 1

GALWAY – Zach Hartman scored three goals on three assists by Casey Mello to lead Galway to a Western Athletic Conference win over Canajoharie.

Logan Sala scored the lone goal for the Cougars.

Robbie Baron and Brendon Kondrat combined to make five saves for Galway.

Zachary Young made six saves for Canajoharie (0-3 overall, 0-3 WAC).

Saratoga Catholic 6, Oppenheim-Ephratah/ St. Johnsville 3

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Liam Rice scored five goals, leading Saratoga Central Catholic to a victory over Oppenheim-Ephratah.

Nicholas Cavorta also scored for the Saints.

Tristan Engle and Andrew Hart scored for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville, which also benefitted from a Saratoga Catholic own goal.

Jonny Viccarelli and Devan Battisti each had an assist for the Wolves.

Joe Schmidt and Tom Fornabia combined to make 10 saves for Saratoga Catholic.

Nate Trumble made eight stops for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (0-2 overall, 0-2 WAC).

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2, Mekeel Christian 0

SCOTIA?- Maclin Norray scored twice to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a shutout win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Trevor Haack made two saves to earn the shutout win in goal for the Bulldogs (1-1-1 overall, 1-1-1 WAC).

Jacob Kahler made five saves for Mekeel?Christian (0-2-1 overall, 0-2-1 WAC).
