Boys Soccer Roundup: South Glens Falls blanks Johnstown

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Kyle Ogden had a goal and an assist, leading South Glens Falls to a 3-0 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council boys soccer contest Friday.

Teddy Brushini and Alex Potter also scored for the Bulldogs (1-3 overall, 1-1 Foothills), while Jace Lenon added an assist.

Evan Brooks didn’t make a save on his way to a shutout win in goal for South Glens Falls.

Andy Camarra finished with 12 saves for Johnstown (0-3-1 overall, 0-2 Foothills).

Scotia-Glenville 6, Hudson Falls 0

SCOTIA – Six different players scored to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council win over Hudson Falls.

Billy Bean, Mike Palleschi, Owen Fingar, Zack Musto, Mike Fraioli and David McKenzie all scored for the Tartans.

Fingar also had two assists for Scotia-Glenville (2-0 Foothills), while Palleschi had one.

Queensbury 6,?Glens Falls 0

QUEENSBURY – Liam Mulshine, Cole Crotty, Preston Hendrick, Eric Paige, Hayden Fitzgerald and Lucas DeWeese all scored, leading Queensbury to a shutout win over Glens Falls in a Foothills Council contest.

Paige, Chris Goodemote, Seth Weingart and Jimmy Doty added assists for the Spartans.

Tyler Raymond made five saves to post the shutout win in goal for Queensbury (4-0 overall, 2-0 Foothills).

Pat Resse made nine saves for Glens Falls (0-4 overall, 0-2 Foothills).

WAC

Northville 5, Galway 0

NORTHVILLE – David Onzo, Wolfgang Reinke, Will Wilson and Kalob Russell all finished with a goal and an assist as Northville blanked Galway in a WAC North Division contest.

Danny Reidell also scored for the Falcons, who outshot the Golden Eagles 16-7.

Tim Monette made seven saves to post the shutout win in goal for Northville (2-0 overall, 2-0 WAC).

Galway slipped to 1-1 overall and in WAC play with the loss.

Mayfield 1, Saratoga Catholic 1

SARATOGA SPRINGS – James Winsman scored the lone goal for Mayfield in a 1-1 tie with Saratoga Central Catholic in a WAC North Division contest.

Liam Rice scored the only goal for the Saints on a penalty kick with 12 minutes left in the second half.

Joe Schmidt made eight saves for Saratoga Catholic, while Lucas VanNostrand made eight saves for Mayfield.

Middleburgh 5, Sharon Springs 1

SHARON SPRINGS – Austin Roney finished with two goals, leading Middleburgh to a WAC South Division win over Sharon Springs.

Hunter Adams and Brody Smith each had a goal and an assist for the Knights, who outscored the Spartans 4-0 in the second half. Nick Righi also scored for Middleburgh.

Mason Handy scored the lone goal for Sharon Springs, while Jeff Perrotti had an assist.

Schoharie 1, Mekeel Christian 0

SCHOHARIE – James Sackett scored the game’s only goal, lifting Schoharie to a 1-0 win over Mekeel Christian Academy in a WAC South Division contest.

Will Vedder had an assist for the Indians.

Justin Montione made two saves to post the shutout win in goal for Schoharie.

Jacob Kahler made 10 saves for Mekeel Christian.

Galway 2, Fort Plain 0

GALWAY – Travis Longworth and Casey Mello scored to lead Galway to a shutout win over Fort Plain on Wednesday.

Robbie Baron made three saves to earn the shutout win in goal for the Golden Eagles.

AMSTERDAM – The Amsterdam boys soccer team played LaSalle to a scoreless draw Thursday at Lynch Literacy Academy.

Indian Lake-Long Lake 3

LONG LAKE -Stephen Raymond scored the game-winning goal with 7:51 remaining in the second overtime, lifting Wells to a win over Indian Lake-Long Lake.

Kenny Chicoski assisted on the goal for the Indians. Chicoski finished the day with a goal and three assists for Wells (1-0 overall), while Raymond scored twice.

Matt Michienzi also scored for the Indians.

Shane Short scored twice for Indian Lake-Long Lake, while Henry Sandiford had a goal and an assist. Austin Pierce also had an assist for the Orange.

Ben Brenan made 12 saves for Wells, while Rudy Giessen made 20 saves for Indian Lake-Long Lake.
