Boys Soccer Roundup: Wolves blank Hilltoppers in WAC contest

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Anthony Dillenbeck and Dylan Klock scored, leading Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a 2-0 win over Fort Plain in a Western Athletic Conference North Division contest Friday.

Devan Battisti added an assist for the Wolves (1-2 overall, 1-2 WAC).

Nate Trumbull made seven saves to post the shutout win in goal for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

James May made 12 saves for Fort Plain (1-3 overall, 1-3 WAC).

Mayfield 3, Galway 2

MAYFIELD – Todd Briggs, Jack Albertin and Josh Ivancic scored to lead Mayfield to a Western Athletic Conference win over Galway.

Briggs and Riley Yager each had an assist for the Panthers, who improved to 2-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in WAC play.

Taylor Hartman and Quinn Smith scored for Galway (2-2 WAC).

Lucas VanNostrand made one save to earn the win in goal for Mayfield.

Northville 2, Saratoga Catholic 1

NORTHVILLE – Dan Reidell and Will Wilson scored, leading Northville to a Western Athletic Conference win over Saratoga Central Catholic.

Tyler Henderson and Kalob Russell each had an assist for Northville (4-0 overall, 4-0 WAC).

Liam Rice scored the lone goal for Saratoga Catholic on an assist from Luke Spicer.

Tim Monette made four saves to post the shutout win in goal for the Falcons.

Joe Schmidt made six saves for the Saints.

Schoharie 9, Sharon Springs 0

SCHOHARIE – James Sackett finished with three goals and an assist, powering Schoharie to a shutout win over Sharon Springs.

Rich Martino had two goals and an assist for the Indians, while Chris O’Neill had two goals. Cam Schulz added a goal and two assists for Schoharie, who also benefitted from an own goal by Sharon Springs.

Dustin Tripp made 10 saves for Sharon Springs.

Foothills Council

South Glens Falls 2, Broadalbin-Perth 0

BROADALBIN – Cody Kostrzebski and Teddy Brushini scored, leading South Glens Falls to a shutout win over Broadalbin-Perth.

Alec Potter and Levi Ahl each had an assist for the Bulldogs.

Evan Brooks made three saves to earn the shutout win in goal for South Glens Falls (3-3 overall, 3-1 Foothills)

Devin Page made six saves for Broadalbin-Perth (3-1 overall, 3-1 Foothills), which was outshot 15-6 in the game.

Colonial Council

Ichabod Crane 10, Fonda-Fultonville 0

FONDA – Seth Scarano scored three goals to lead Ichabod Crane to a shutout win over Fonda-Fultonville.

Derrick Fenoff, Tyler Suchoski, Luykas Van Alstine, Alex Niemann, Heriberto Gomez, Miguel Martinez and Anthony DeChance also scored for the Riders.

Northern Soccer League

Wells 4, Crown Point 2

CROWN POINT – Matt Michienzi scored twice to lead Wells to a win over Crown Points.

Nick Taylor and Kenny Chicoski also scored for the Indians, who led 3-0 at the half.

Judd Brobander scored both goals for Crown Point.

Ben Brenan made 13 saves to earn the win in goal for Wells (3-0 overall, 3-0 NSL Division III).
