Girls Soccer Roundup: FFCS girls lose to Mechanicville

FONDA – Mackenzie Bowie scored three goals to lead Mechanicville to a 4-0 win over Fonda-Fultonville in a Colonial Council girls soccer contest Saturday.

Keara LaFountain also scored for the Red Raiders.

Kim Thompson made four saves to earn the shutout win in goal for Mechanicville.

Alexis Halpin made 16 saves for Fonda-Fultonville (1-6 overall, 1-6 Colonial).

Schoharie Tournament

Schoharie 3, Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 2 (OT)

SCHOHARIE – The host Indians won on penalty kicks in the championship game of the Schoharie Tournament.

Carly Farineau and Carrie Krohn scored for the Indians, while Seana Cleveland and Kaitlyn Kendle each had an assist.

Jessi Hagadorn and Tabea Salvmann scored for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (4-2-1 overall), while Abby Mosher had an assist.

Sydney Stanley had 10 saves for Schoharie, while Leann Clark made 12 saves for the Lady Wolves.


Cherry Valley 4, Fort Plain 0

CHERRY VALLEY – Fort Plain dropped a 4-0 decision at Cherry Valley-Springfield in a non-league contest.

The Lady Hilltoppers slipped to 0-6-1 overall.

Fort Plain is scheduled to host West Canada Valley on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
