Girls Soccer Roundup: Lady Patriots hold off Lady Bills

JOHNSTOWN – Katie Herba finished with three goals and an assist, leading Broadalbin-Perth to a 4-3 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council contest at Johnstown High School on Friday.

Kylie Gifford also scored for Broadalbin-Perth (6-1 overall, 5-1 Foothills), which led 3-1 at the half before holding off a late rally by the Lady Bills.

Morganne Dick scored twice for Johnstown (3-4-1 overall, 2-3-1 Foothills), while Megan Anagnostopulos had a goal and two assists.

Briana Esposito made 21 saves for Johnstown, while MacKenzie Young made seven stops for Broadalbin-Perth.

Gloversville 8, Glens Falls 3

GLENS FALLS – Chanel Thomas and Madison Fancher each scored three goals to lead Gloversville to a Foothills Council win over Glens Falls.

Caroline Bakyta and Amanda Bakyta also scored for the Lady Dragons.

Caroline Bakyta also had two assists for Gloversville (2-4 overall, 2-4 Foothills), while Thomas, Emma Botch, Natasha Simon and Emily Gifford each had an assist.

Lucy Tougas, Demi Vanderheyden and Skylar Girard all scored for Glens Falls (3-5 overall, 1-5 Foothills), which was outshot 21-9.

Emily Washburn made five saves for Gloversville, while Vanderheyden and Kady Bates combined to make seven saves for Glens Falls.

Scotia-Glenville 11, Hudson Falls 0

HUDSON FALLS – Dominique Puglisi scored twice and had an assist as Scotia-Glenville rolled past Hudson Falls.

A total of 10 different players scored for the Lady Tartans.

Maddy Carroll, Lisa Smith and Alyssa Williams each had a goal and an assist for Scotia-Glenville, while Abby O’Connor and Nicole Polsinelli each had a goal and two assists.

Richelle Cremo, Kayleigh Denney, Gracie Mailey and Ginny Zielankowski also scored for the Lady Tartans.

Queensbury 3, South Glens Falls 0

QUEENSBURY – Brittany LaPlant scored all three goals to lead Queensbury to a shutout win over South Glens Falls.

Katherine Conway and Katie Shevlin each had an assist for the Spartans.

Sarah O’Brien made five saves to earn the shutout win in goal for Queensbury.

Elyse Green had 11 saves for South Glens Falls.

Northville 7, Fort Plain 0

NORTHVILLE – Lyndsey Wadsworth finished with three goals and an assist to lead Northville to a shutout win over Fort Plain.

Veronica Arceri and Taylor Fancher each scored twice for Northville (4-3 overall, 4-3 WAC), while Meghan LaPort had two assists. Sarah Dickey and Mary Ryan each had an assist for the Lady Falcons.

Mallory Hook made just one save to earn the shutout win in goal for Northville.

MacKenzie Stevens made four saves for Fort Plain (0-5-1 overall, 0-4-1 WAC), which was outshot 24-1.

Canajoharie 4, Duanesburg 2

DUANESBURG – Jenelle Dillenbeck scored twice to lead Canajoharie to a win over Duanesburg.

Hannah Bowerman had a goal and an assist for the Lady Cougars, while Morgan Koelbl also scored.

Ariannah Logan and Paige Shovelton each had an assist for Canajoharie (4-2 overall, 4-2 WAC).

Maeve McKeeby and Kayla Smalls scored for Duanesburg, while Devon Hennel had an assist.

Lauren Balfe made six saves for the Lady Cougars, while Nicole Cassale made 13 saves for Duanesburg.

Schoharie 4, Mayfield 0

MAYFIELD – Seana Cleveland had two goals and an assist, leading Schoharie to a shutout win over Northville.

Desiree Palmatier and Carrie Krohn scored for Schoharie, which outshot Mayfield 13-4.

Sydney Stanley had four saves for Schoharie, while Maria Messina made nine saves for Mayfield.

Mayfield (0-5 overall, 0-5 WAC) will host Lake George today at 7 p.m. in a non-league contest.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 1, Sharon Springs 0

BERNE – Sarah Martin scored the game’s only goal on an assist from Stephanie Mason, lifting Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a win over Sharon Springs.

Juliana Martin made five saves to earn the shutout win in goal for the Bulldogs.

Kara VanArsdal made 16 saves for Sharon Springs.

Little Falls 11, Dolgeville 0

LITTLE FALLS – Sarah Bruins and Maria Morotti each scored three goals to lead Little Falls to a win over Dolgeville on Thursday.

Katelyn Parese and Nicole Foti each scored twice for the Mounties, while Kelli Shepardson also scored.

Cheyenne Rivenburg made 10 saves to earn the shutout win in goal for Little Falls.

Morgan Randall made 10 saves for Dolgeville (1-4-1 overall, 0-2-1 CSC).
