Girls Soccer Roundup: Smith leads OESJ to win over BKW

ST. JOHNSVILLE – The Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville girls soccer team got goals from eight different players as it rolled past Berne-Knox-Westerlo 9-2 in Western Athletic Conference action Wednesday.

Rylie Smith connected for two goals for the Lady Wolves (1-0-0), while Hannah Taylor, Jessie Hagadorn, Skyler Viveros, Emily Weaver, Addie Brundage, Abby Mosher and Rachel Graepel had one goal apiece. Aryn Feagles had two assists and Viveros had one assists.

Delany Martin scored both goals for BKW (0-1-0), while Sarah Martin had a assist.

BKW goalkeeper Juliana Martin had 17 stops on 37 OESJ shots, while Lady Wolves’ goalie Leann Clark made four stops on six BKW shots.

Schoharie 8, Northville 1

NORTHVILLE – Allison Ellsworth broke up the Schoharie shut out bid with her second-half goal off an assist from Lyndsey Wadsworth.

The Lady Indians (1-0-0) out shot Northville 18-2 in the match with Mallory Hook making 10 stops in net for the Lady Falcons (0-1-1).

Fort Plain 1, Duanesburg 1

FORT PLAIN – Lia Schettine connected for the Lady Hilltoppers with 58 seconds left in regulation to send the game in to overtime.

Soren Shirley put Fort Plain (0-0-1) on top early in the match with her first-half goal.

Non-league

Dolgeville 5, Westmoreland 1

WESTMORELAND – Sarah George scored two goals, while Emilie Lewandowski, Kaleigh Dodson and Courtney Normoyle all had one goal apiece to power the Lady Blue Devils (1-0-0) to victory.

Katie Millard had seven saves in goal for Dolgeville (1-0-0 overall), while her counterpart Valerie Spencer had six stops.

Josie Schafer accounted for Westmoreland’s (0-1-0) goal.
