AMSTERDAM – Julian Gallup threw for two touchdowns, ran for another and caught a touchdown pass in the first half as Amsterdam topped Mohonasen 49-19 in a Class A contest at Lynch Literacy Academy on Friday afternoon.
The Rugged Rams led 42-7 at the half in their home opener.
Gallup threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to JV Valentin to open the scoring and threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Tony Isabel.
Gallup also caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Gabe Mendez and scored on a 1-yard run.
Kolbie Glionna scored on a 43-yard run for Amsterdam (2-0 overall), while Bryan Stanavich scored on a 20-yard run.
Alonzo Martin added a 9-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for the Rugged Rams.
Amsterdam rushed for 370 yards on 36 carries.
Chris Richardson scored twice on two 47-yard passes from Nate Stillson for Mohonasen, while Nick DeNicola scored on a 59-yard run for the Warriors.
Stillson was 12-for-17 for 230 yards and two touchdowns for the Warriors, while Richardson had five catches for 145 yards and two scores. Mohonasen (0-2 overall) gained 92 yards on 24 carries.
Amsterdam will host Troy next Friday at 7 p.m.

VALATIE – Asa Barnhill scored three touchdowns to lead Gloversville to a shutout win over Ichabod Crane.
Barnhill scored on runs of 29, 75 and 25 yards for the Huskies, who led 42-0 at halftime.
Quantel McGee scored on a 25-yard run for Gloversville, while David VanDenabeele scored on a 32-yard run.
Taylor McCredie threw two touchdowns for Gloversville, completing a 21-yard TD pass to Caleb Dutcher and an 8-yard pass to VanDenabeele. McCredie was 4-for-9 for 79 yards and two touchdowns.
The 2-0 Huskies have outscored their foes 89-0 through two games this season.
Ichabod Crane slipped to 0-2 overall with the loss and has been outscored 90-0 this season.
Gloversville will host defending state Class A champion Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake next Friday at 7 p.m.

Williams connected with Brandon Baker touchdown receptions of 18 and 35 yards and hit Cam Ives for a 13-yard score.
Ben Bogan carried a fumble in for a first-quarter touchdown and Anthony Sinicropi rushed five yards for a fourth-quarter Fonda-Fultonville touchdown.
