Boys Soccer Roundup: South Glens Falls blanks Johnstown, 5-0

JOHNSTOWN – Alec Potter scored three goals, leading South Glens Falls to a 5-0 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council boys soccer contest Monday.

Teddy Bruschini had a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs, while Cody Kostrzebski also scored.

Jace Lenon and Tristan Morey each had an assist for South Glens Falls (8-3 overall, 8-1 Foothills), which outshot Johnstown 15-1.

Evan Brooks made just one save to earn the shutout win in goal for the Bulldogs, who led 3-0 at the half. It was the eighth straight shutout for South Glens Falls.

Andy Camarra made 10 saves for Johnstown (2-8-1 overall, 1-8 Foothills).

Queensbury 2, Glens Falls 1

GLENS FALLS – Jayson Mullen and Liam Mulshine scored to lead Queensbury to a Foothills Council victory over Glens Falls.

Eric Paige and Preston Hendrick each had an assists for the Spartans.

Sean Hooker scored the lone goal for Glens Falls.

Patrick Resse made four saves for the Indians.

Scotia-Glenville 5, Hudson Falls 2

HUDSON FALLS – Owen Fingar scored twice to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council win over Hudson Falls.

Ian Flaherty had a goal and an assist for the Tartans, while Cameron DeLong and Peter Marola also scored.

Leonard Kilmartin and Will Knapp scored for Hudson Falls, while Tom Hogan added an assist.


Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 1, Mekeel Christian 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Tristan Engle scored the game’s only goal, lifting Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a Western Athletic Conference win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Andrew Hart had an assist on the goal for the Wolves.

Nate Trumbull made seven saves in goal for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (5-3-1 overall, 5-3-1 WAC), which won its third straight contest.

Jacob Kahler made nine saves for Mekeel Christian.

Schoharie 3, Canajoharie 1

SCHOHARIE – Devon Brooks, Morgan Henry and Cameron Schultz scored to lead Schoharie to a win over Canajoharie.

Jerson Vasquez scored the lone goal for Canajoharie (2-7 overall, 2-7 WAC).

Zach Young made three saves for the Cougars.

Justin Montione made two saves to earn the win in goal for Schoharie (8-0-1 overall, 8-0-1 WAC).

Canajoharie is scheduled to travel to Northville on?Wednesday for a 4:15 p.m. contest.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 3, Mayfield 0

BERNE – Lukus Becker, Travis Fairlee and Tate Repscher scored to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a shutout win over Mayfield.

Nico Podros had two assists for the Bulldogs, while Maclin Norray had one assist.

Trevor Haack made two saves to post the shutout win in goal for BKW (7-1-1 overall, 7-1-1 WAC).

Lucas VanNostrand made five saves for Mayfield (5-4-1 overall, 5-4-1 WAC).

Saratoga Catholic 3, Middleburgh 1

MIDDLEBURGH – Luke Spicer, Michael Naughton and Keegan Murphy scored to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a win over Middleburgh.

Liam Rice had an assist for the Saints.

Austin Roney scored the lone goal for Middleburgh.

Joe Schmidt made eight saves for Saratoga Catholic, while Austin Smith made four stops for the Knights.

Duanesburg 5, Sharon Springs 0

DUANESBURG ?- Chris Smalls and Mikkel Roade each scored twice to lead Duanesburg to a shutout win over Sharon Springs.

Nick Loukides also scored for the Eagles.

ALBANY – Erick Kwizera scored twice to lead Albany to a win over Amsterdam.

Greyson Mullins scored the lone goal for Amsterdam.

Lucas Phayre-Gonzalez made three saves for the Falcons.

Dillon Smith made 12 saves for Amsterdam, which was outshot 14-4.

Amsterdam is scheduled to travel to LaSalle today for a 7 p.m. contest.
