Field Hockey Roundup: Johnstown loses to South High

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – South Glens Falls claimed its first Foothills Council field hockey title since 1989 with a 2-1 win over Johnstown in a game that was decided in one-on-one breakaways following two scoreless 10-minute overtimes on Thursday.

Katie Washburn scored in regulation for South Glens Falls (11-4 overall, 11-1 Foothills).

Hope Cerasuolo scored the lone goal in regulation for the Lady Bills (11-5 overall, 10-2 Foothills), who defeated South Glens Falls 3-0 at Knox Field earlier this season.

Michaela Regner made 13 saves for South Glens Falls.

Kristin Wright made 10 saves for Johnstown.

Scotia-Glenville 3, Hudson Falls 1

SCOTIA – Megan Murdock, Jen Mayette and Mallory Paszkiewicz scored to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council win over Hudson Falls on Thursday.

Ashley O’Neil had two assists for the Lady Tartans, while Taylor Santabarbara had one assist.

Sam Kuba scored the lone goal for Hudson Falls.

Naudia Smith made two saves for Scotia-Glenville (6-10 overall, 4-8 Foothills).

Nicole Wojtowecz made 14 saves for Hudson Falls.
