H.S. Football Roundup: Gloversville rolls past South Glens Falls

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Asa Barnhill scored four touchdowns to lead Gloversville to a 53-14 win over South Glens Falls in a Class A Northwest Division contest Saturday.

Barnhill scored on runs of 46, 9 and 13 yards. He also scored on a 75-yard kickoff return.

Quantel McGee scored twice for the Huskies, while Dante Galster scored on a 22-yard run. Austin Flynn added a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown for Gloversville (4-2 overall, 1-2 Class A Northwest), which led 27-6 at the half.

McGee finished with 149 yards on nine carries, while Barnhill had 108 yards on nine carries.

Jake Normandin scored on a 75-yard run and an 85-yard kickoff return for South Glens Falls (0-6 overall, 0-3 Foothills). Normandin finished with 85 yards on six carries for the Bulldogs, while Reggie Viger rushed for 77 yards on 16 carries.

Gloversville will travel to Queensbury next Saturday.

BURNT HILLS – Josh Quesada finished with five touchdowns, powering Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to a shutout win over Amsterdam.

Quesada scored on runs of 5, 7, 5 and 6 yards. He also caught a 8-yard touchdown pass from John Clayton. Danny Maynard added touchdown runs of 1 and 6 yards for the Spartans.

Joe Butler added a 1-yard touchdown run for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (5-1 overall, 3-1 Class A Northwest)

Amsterdam slipped to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in Class A Northwest Division play with the loss.

The Rams are scheduled to host South Glens Falls next Saturday at 3 p.m. at Lynch Literacy?Academy.

DOLGEVILLE – Ryan Moody scored three touchdowns to lead West Canada Valley to a victory over Dolgeville.

The loss was the first of the season.

Moody scored on runs 35, 1 and 3 yards for the Indians, finishing with 102 yards on 17 carries. Treyton Borden added a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for West Canada Valley (4-2 overall, 4-1 Class D East).

Jason Nastovski scored the lone touchdown run on a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter for Dolgeville (5-1 overall, 4-1 Class D East).

Nastovski led Dolgeville with 50 yards on 12 carries.

Dolgeville is scheduled to travel to Waterville on?Friday for a 7 p.m. contest.
