H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Lady Bills sweep Hudson?Falls, 3-0

HUDSON FALLS – Annie Stock posted 21 digs, 14 kills, 12 points and two blocks to lead Johnstown to a 3-0 sweep of Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council volleyball contest Friday.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-18.

Jerica Holland finished with 14 assists, three digs, two kills and two blocks for Johnstown (12-0 Foothills), while Morgan Catania recorded nine assists, nine service points and eight digs.

Bri O’Rourke had six blocks and four kills for the Lady Bills, and Alyssa Nellis had eight digs and five blocks.

Broadalbin-Perth 3, Glens Falls 0

GLENS FALLS – Gabby Smith finished with 12 service points, 10 assists and three aces to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a sweep of Glens Falls in a Foothills Council contest.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-7, 25-14 and 25-18.

Chelsea LeBlanc had seven kills and two blocks for B-P (10-3 overall, 9-3 Foothills), while Maddie Gurga posted 13 service points and three aces.

Glens Falls slipped to 0-13 overall and 0-12 in Foothills Council play with the loss.

Queensbury 3, Gloversville 0

QUEENSBURY – Jenna Putnam finished with 12 assists and four kills for Gloversville in a Foothills Council loss to Queensbury.

The Spartans won by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-22.

Christina Pavlovsky had seven assists for the Huskies (12-4 overall, 8-4 Foothills), while Katlyn Pierce posted eight kills and two blocks.


Canajoharie 3, Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Abbey Dearwester finished with nine kills, seven assists and one block, leading Canajoharie to a sweep over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

The Lady Cougars won by scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-18.

Shyanna Logan had 18 service points and five aces for Canajoharie (11-2 overall, 11-2 WAC), while Shelbey Mead had two kills.

Kendell Sweeney had seven digs and five assists for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (3-10 overall, 3-10 WAC), while Kyleigh Hayner had eight digs, five aces and two kills. Katie Pabis posted five digs and two kills for the Lady Wolves.

Galway 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

BERNE – Rachel Jones finished with 11 service points, six kills and four aces to lead Galway to a sweep of Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-9, 26-24 and 25-16.

Emily Zawisa had seven service points, five kills, three blocks and two aces for Galway (14-0 overall, 13-0 WAC), while Emily Orminski posted 10 assists, nine service points, three aces and two kills.

Michaela Horlacher recorded 10 assists, three service points, two aces and two blocks for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, while Shannon Stone had nine digs, six blocks, four points and two kills.

Kathryn Salo had eight digs and five kills for the Bulldogs, and Meaghan Conley had five points and four aces.
