CANAJOHARIE – Canajoharie-Fort Plain won six of 11 weight classes on its way to a 36-26 win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo in a Western Athletic Conference match Thursday.
Orion Burke (126), Tangen Rush (170) and Trent DeBlock (182) all won by pinfall for Canajoharie-Fort Plain.
Jared Bentz (99), Derick Countryman (113) and Edward Rolle (132) added forfeit wins for C-FP (4-8 overall, 2-3 WAC).
Kai Fischer (145) and Robert Haas (160) won by pinfall for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, while Sal Audino (120) won by technical fall. Devin McGill added a 13-9 decision over C-FP’s Robert Thomas at 138 pounds and Jake Wideman (152) won by forfeit for the Bulldogs.
There were double forfeits at 106, 192, 220 and 285 pounds.
On Jan. 16, C-FP went 1-4 at the Scotia-Glenville Duals, with its lone win coming against Corinth (46-42). Canajoharie-Fort Plain lost to Saratoga Springs (66-10), Granville (60-15), Catskill (39-33) and Scotia-Glenville (46-33).
On Jan. 7, Canajoharie-Fort Plain posted a 66-3 win over Mekeel Christian Academy in a Western Athletic Conference match.
Thomas (138), Rush (170) and DeBlock (182) all won by pinfall for C-FP.
