ROCHESTER – Competing at Monroe Community College for the second consecutive meet, the Herkimer Generals swimming and diving program conceded the same results, the men finished fourth (199 points) and the women finished second (208 points) at the aquatic center Jan. 16.
Helping the men to their second fourth-place finish of the season was numerous top-five finishes from relays and individual events. Capturing the only first-place spot was Nicholas Herrlett, a Gloversville graduate, in 1-meter and 3-meter diving. The freshman has yet to be defeated this season, totaling 198.25 points in 1-meter and 162.15 points in 3-meter.
Behind Herrlett with one second-place finish was Cameron Roten, a Johnstown graduate. The freshman was second in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a 24.83 seconds.
Roten also was part of the 400-yard medley relay team which placed fourth with a time of 4:28.32.
Herkimer’s next meet is against Jamestown Community College on Saturday for a 1 p.m. meet.
