AMSTERDAM – The Amsterdam Hall of Fame Committee inducted its 2016 inductees into the Amsterdam Baseball/Mohawks Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday at St. Mary’s Institute.
Former Amsterdam legend Jack Pileckas who played professionally, along with Dave Mars, who was a member of the AHS Baseball teams in the 1970’s make up the Amsterdam inductees.
Former players Brendan Harris, who went on to enjoy a long, successful Major League career and Kevin Graber who played for the Mohawks for three years and coached them for one year back in the 90’s, will be inducted on the Mohawks side.
Bobby Valentine, former World Series Manager of the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox, was the keynote speaker of the event. Valentine will also speak of his days as Mets Manager during 9/11 and also his current position as analyst for ESPN and SNY.
