SCHENECTADY – The Canajoharie girls bowling team finished third Thursday at the Section II Class C-D Championship at Boulevard Bowl.
Mechanicville won the team title with a total of 4,902 pins, while Middleburgh was second with 4,173. Canajoharie (4,166) was third, Maple Hill (4,141) was fourth and Mayfield and Berne-Knox-Westerlo tied for fifth with a total of 3,789 pins. Fort Plain was seventh with a total of 3,692 pins.
Kiara Putnam led Canajoharie with a 984 six-game total. In the morning session, she had a high game of 180 and a 480 series, while posting a 187-496 in the afternoon session. Amy Reedy had a total of 974, rolling a 202-534 in the morning and a 168-440 in the afternoon for the Lady Cougars, while Amelia Oeser posted a total of 859 pins. Oeser had a 169-463 in the morning session and a 177-396 in the afternoon session.
