Cirillo competing for Elms College

SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. – The Elms College men’s and women’s swimming teams wrapped up the 2015-16 season by set new school records at the 2016 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championship at the Tootell Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Rhode Island.

Junior Nick Cirillo, a Gloversville graduate, set a new Elms school record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.76, which qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships. Cirillo took fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:37.35) and ninth in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.64.

Cirillo also was part of the 800-yard relay team, which clocked a new school record with a time of 7:31.14.

Elms will compete in the ECAC Championships at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., this weekend.
