Dolgeville volleyball loses in sectionals

HERKIMER – Elise Davis finished with 25 assists and 10 digs to help second-seeded Herkimer to a 3-0 win over 15th-seeded Dolgeville in the first round of the Section III Class C volleyball tournament Tuesday.

The Magicians won by scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-19.

Paige Klock posted 14 kills, 10 digs and two blocks for Herkimer (19-0 overall), while Gracie Schrader had 15 digs and four kills. Brittany Hunter recorded 10 digs, five kills and three aces for the Magicians, and Alysha Henrickson added seven digs.

Sarah Johnson and Codi Gay each had five kills and five digs for Herkimer.

Katie Millard finished with 18 digs, four assists, three aces and two kills for Dolgeville, while Kaylee Brandow posted nine digs and two kills. Kacey Daley had 17 digs and two aces for the Blue Devils, Linsey Coonradt posted five digs, two kills and two aces, and Rachael Gross notched seven digs, five assists, three kills and two aces. Emily Krasko added four digs and two kills for Dolgeville, which finished its season with a 5-11 overall record.

Herkimer will host the winner of today’s match between 10th-seeded Little Falls and seventh-seeded Waterville in the quarterfinals Friday.
