UTICA – The Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks swept a doubleheader from Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Mountain Valley Conference basketball action Saturday at Mohawk Valley Community College.
The FMCC men were edged by the Hawks 89-87, while the women fall to MVCC 82-53.
Rylie Smith led the Lady Raiders (14-5, 7-2) with her 14-point effort, while Moet Jenkins chipped in with 10 points and 10 assists and Abby Boyer finished with nine.
MVCC (24-0, 11-0) was paced by Africa Willilams’ 22-point performance, while Sasha Patterson had 16 and Adrienne Graves added 14 points.
Ayodele Akinmola led the FMCC (7-11, 6-11) men with his 24-point effort, while Barceem Dukes had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Tremaine Elder finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Dylan O’Connor added 11 points to the Raiders’ scoring.
Mohawk Valley’s (16-8, 7-7) Kyron Allen led all scorers with 29 points, while Devante Wilson had 22 and Creig Goldson had 12 points.
