Wells boys come up short against Westport, 52-27

WELLS – Anderson Gay finished with 16 points to lead Westport to a 52-27 win over Wells in a Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference boys basketball Wednesday.

The Eagles outscored the Indians 40-16 over the final three quarters to earn the victory.

Thomas Mero scored 11 points for Westport, while Carter Storey added 10.

Stephen Beach scored 14 points to lead Wells (11-8 overall).

On Tuesday, Beach scored 13 points to lead Wells to a 47-46 win over Crown Point.

The Indians led 28-9 at the half before holding off a second-half rally by the Panthers.

Justin Foster finished with 13 points for Wells.

Zach Spaulding scored 14 points to lead Crown Point, while Hunter Pertak added 11 points.

Wells is scheduled to travel to Elizabethtown-Lewis on Friday.
