Raiders baseball drops 3 games to Timberwolves

JOHNSTOWN – After splitting a doubleheader Saturday against Adirondack Community College, the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Raiders dropped both games of Sunday’s doubleheader at Raiders Field.

In Saturday’s opening game at East Field in Glens Falls, the Raiders powered their way to a 14-11 victory.

Fonda-Fultonville graduate Patrick Hart recorded the win on the mound for the Raiders, despite allowing 10 runs over 6 innings. He struck out five, walked three and gave up 17 hits. Ryan McNamara went 3-5 with two doubles, a single and an RBI. Hart was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, single and two RBIs. Ayden Healy was 2-for-2 with a triple, single and an RBI.

In game two, the Raiders fell short 12-11 despite pounding out 10 hits.

Gloversville’s Justin Putnam was charged with the loss for FM, allowing 10 runs in 4 innings, walking two and striking out two. McNamara went 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs and DaShon Boyles was 3-for-3 with an RBI.

The Timberwolves traveled to FMCC on Sunday for the final two games of the series.

Despite having a strong game at the plate, the Raiders dropped the first game 19-14.

Hart did his best to jumpstart the offense for FM, reaching base four times, scoring four runs and delivering an RBI. Jake Petralia was charged with the loss, allowing 10 runs in five innings, walking one and striking out three. Ryan Cullam had a two-run home run, while Kyle Agresta had three RBIs and Fonda-Fultonville’s Lucas Calkins had two singles.

In the final game of the series, the Raiders’ bats went quiet, as they suffered a 15-0 loss.

Agresta took the loss for the Raiders and McNamara had the lone hit for FMCC.

The Raiders return to the diamond Tuesday when they host Columbia-Greene with game times slated for 2 and 4 p.m.
