FMCC softball splits with Clinton

PLATTSBURGH – The Fulton-Montgomery Community College softball team ended its 2016 season with a split of a doubleheader with Clinton Community College.

FMCC lost the first game, 3-2, and rebounded to win the second game, 8-1.

In the first game, FMCC scored both of its runs in the first inning. Katie Hauser single, stole second and scored on a single by Abby Boyer. Amber Richardson-Iannotti plated Boyer with a single. Boyer led the Raiders with two hits and an RBI.

In the second game, FMCC scored in every inning but the third. Megan Patterson had two singles and four RBIs for the Raiders, while Richardson-Iannotti added a single and a double. Emily Towne, Sabriana Franck, Becca Pike, Hauser and Boyer also had hits for FMCC.

Towne earned the win in the circle, allowing just two hits.

FMCC ended its season with a 5-17 overall record.

“I am very proud of the girls and the way they competed and finished out the season with a win. Best of luck to all of our seniors,” FMCC coach Meghan Power said.
