GHS boys tennis loses to Schuylerville

SCHUYLERVILLE – Schuylerville won two singles matches and both doubles contests on its way to a 4-3 win over Gloversivlle in a Foothills Council boys tennis match Monday.

Despite the loss, Gloversville claimed the Foothills Council title.

Kai Kobori-Hotchkiss won at first singles for the Black Horses, while Mike Burkett won at third singles.

Darius Richardson-Steve Bennett won at first doubles for Schuylerville (16-3 overall, 13-3 Foothills), while Chris Winnek and Robert King won at second doubles.

Schuylerville won the Section II Class B title last week.

Damian Bruce, Brian Hugo and Nicholas Bruce won singles matches for Gloversville (14-3 overall, 14-2 overall).

On Friday, the Gloversville boys tennis team earned a 7-0 forfeit win over Amsterdam in a Foothills Council match.

Scotty Bruce, Damian Bruce, Kyle Fonda, Hugo and Nicholas Bruce all won in singles play by forfeit.

Zach Catucci and Cam Biche collected a forfeit win at first doubles, while Ryan Issa and Nick Washburn won by forfeit at second doubles.
