Women’s tourney winners announced

GLOVERSVILLE – The Johnstown USBC City Tournament concluded May 12 with a total number of 22 teams, 37 doubles and 74 singles and 74 all events being entered.

Oldies but Goodies 2 took first place in the team event with a total of 2,752 pins. Team members included Julie Stewart, Jean Briscoe, Cathy Simon and Theresa Lee. Rounding out the top six teams were We Still Heart Bowling in second, Just a Little in third, Bug Off Gang in fourth, Family Tree in fifth and Alley Oops taking sixth place.

Jessica and Megan Hayner captured the doubles title with a score of 1,484. Jennings/Bonesteel, McGillis/M. Foster, Stuart/Dunham, Hulbert/Dingman, Sparks/Durrin, B. Frolke/Pettit, Cole/Humphrey, Mault/Boyd, Fraker/H. Meher, Hillreigel/Hill and Snyder/Flansburg finish out the top 12.

Ashley Valik bowled a 793 to take the singles title, followed by Camille Smullen, Megan Hayner, Jessica Foster, Julie Dunham, Kathy Dingman, Nancy Hulbert, Cindy Snyder, Barbara Frolke, Connie Hladik, Jessica McGillis, Tammy Thackrah, Jeannie Jennings, Karen Marshall, Gail Dunlap, Connie Frank, Jessica Glover, Phyllis VanAlstine, Kathy Williams, Jacey Dorman, Jessica Hayner and Carol Hillabrandt to round out the top 22.

Julie Dunham was all-events champion with a combined total of 2264. Additional winners in the all-events category were Ashley Valik, Connie Hladik, Megan Hayner, Nancy Hulbert, Jeannie Jennings, Jessica Hayner, Barbara Frolke, Camille Smullen, Kathy Dingman, Jessica Foster and Tammy Thackrah

Money and trophies will be awarded at the City Banquet on May 26 at Arterial Lanes. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m. Those who are unable to make the banquet, money and trophies may also be picked up at the Association meeting on June 2 at Perry Lanes at 6:30 p.m.
