AMSTERDAM – On a night when both teams finished with 10 hits, Mohawk Valley made to most of its opportunities and capitalized on three errors to post a 7-4 win over Amsterdam in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game at Shuttleworth Park on Friday.
Andrew Turner was 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs for the Diamond Dawgs, while Mike Martinez was 2-for-4 with two doubles., Sean Mazzio added a single and a double for Mohawk Valley.
Dan Maynard was 3-for-4 with a double for the Mohawks, while Tristen Carranza, Nick Patten and Brett Kinneman each had doubles. Chris LaVorgna added a triple for Amsterdam.
Amsterdam (12-7 overall) is scheduled to travel to Oneonta today for a 7 p.m. contest, while Mohawk Valley (10-9 overall) is slated to travel to Albany for a 7:05 p.m. game.
