Broadalbin-Perth sweeps Gloversville in Foothills Council volleyball match

BROADALBIN – Jordan Marshall finished with 11 kills and nine digs to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-0 win over Gloversville in a Foothills Council match at Broadalbin-Perth High School on Wednesday.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-7, 25-21 and 25-11.

Cassy Bown had 16 service points, six kills and four aces for B-P (4-1 overall, 4-1 Foothills), while Kara Terwilliger had 11 service points and three aces. Olivia Casey added eight digs and six kills for the Lady Patriots.

Katie Oathout had 10 digs and eight assists for Gloversville, while Aspen Darling posted five assists and four kills. Abbey Johnson added four kills for the Huskies.

Gloversville (2-3 overall, 1-3 Foothills) is scheduled to host Amsterdam on Friday at 6 p.m., while Broadalbin-Perth is scheduled to travel to Clifton Park to take part in the Shenendehowa Tournament on Saturday.

Amsterdam 3, Scotia-Glenville 0

AMSTERDAM – Kateland Cooks finished with six kills and four blocks to help Amsterdam to a Foothills Council win over Scotia-Glenville.

The Lady Rams won by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-19.

Maria Lomanto posted 13 service points, four kills and two aces for Amsterdam (2-3 overall), 2-2 Foothills), while Guiliana Pritchard registered four kills, three blocks and two aces. Morgan Durinick had 15 assists, four kills and two aces for the Lady Rams and Cinderae Chrzanowski added 15 digs.

Non-league

Johnstown 3, Mayfield 2

JOHNSTOWN – Claire Guzielek finished with 16 assists, 13 service points, six aces, six digs and two kills to lead Johnstown to a non-league win over Mayfield.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-13, 23-25, 23-25, 25-23 and 25-16.

Jordan Rose posted 12 digs, 11 service points and nine kills for Johnstown (3-2 overall), while Macenzie Ward had 16 service points, 13 assists, nine digs, eight aces and two kills. Alexys Hutchins registered seven kills, six digs, four service points and three aces for the Lady Bills, and Janay Douglas added 12 service points, 11 digs, 10 kills and four aces.

Emily Mormando finished with 17 assists, 12 digs, 12 service points and three aces for Mayfield (2-4 overall), while Taylor Porter posted 25 digs, seven kills and six service points. Alis Hart had 20 digs and 12 service points for the Lady Panthers, Samantha Kent notched eight kills and five blocks, and Amy Laubenstein added 11 digs.

Johnstown is scheduled to host Scotia-Glenville on Friday at 6 p.m., while Mayfield is slated to travel to Fort Plain on Friday for a 5:30 p.m. match.

Fort Plain 3, Bishop Maginn 0

FORT PLAIN -Anganese Gomez finished with 15 aces, five assists, four kills and three digs to lead Fort Plain to a non-league win over Bishop Maginn.

The Lady Hilltoppers won by scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-10.

Alexis Hagadorn posted three kills, two aces and two assists for Fort Plain, while Liz Cortese had five kills, five aces and two digs. Cara Porter finished with two kills, two aces and two assists for the Lady Hilltoppers, Kaylee Atkins had eight aces and two digs, and Vikki Wilday added two assists.

Fort Plain (1-5 overall) is scheduled to host Mayfield on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
