Johnstown, Canjo battle to draw

CANAJOHARIE – The Canajoharie and Johnstown golf team came into Friday’s non-league match unbeaten and end it unbeaten as they played to a 7 1/2-7 1/2 draw at Canajoharie Golf & Country Club.

Austin Countryman led Canajoharie with a round of 37, while Mike Balfe posted a 38. Aidan O’Neil had a 44 for Cougars, while Chris Congdon and Jacob Montayne each had rounds of 59. Derek Countryman added a 52 for Canajoharie.

Ben Wager led Johnstown with a 41, while Jared Brown and Jacob Miller each had rounds of 43. Ben Russo posted a 45 for the Sir Bills, Ethan Wager had a 46 and David Malagisi added a 50.


Fort Plain 13 1/2, Schoharie 1 1/2

CANAJOHARIE – Drew Fureno posted a 43 to lead Fort Plain to a Western Athletic Conference win over Schoharie on Thursday at Canajoharie Golf & Country Club.

Austin Cotton carded a 44 for the Hilltoppers and Jacob Hazlett finished with a 47. Taylor Gifford had a 47 for Fort Plain, while Brady Fureno and Michael D’Arcangelis each had rounds of 50.

Louis Hardendorf posted a 47 to pace Schoharie, while John Polley had a 50. Joe Polley added a 52 for the Indians.
