Kroup, Mosenthin playing for Utica

PLATTSBURGH – The Utica College volleyball team went 1-1 on the second day of the Plattsburgh Invitational on Saturday. The Pioneers fell to the Cardinals 3-0 before rebounding to knock off Elms College 3-1. UC finished the weekend going 2-1 and the Pioneers have now won three of their last four games.

Against Elms, Gloversville graduate Andreana Kroup had seven digs for Utica, while Dolgeville graduate Abigail Mosenthin had a team-high 10 digs.

On the first day of the tournament, Utica posted a 3-1 win over Southen Vermont College.

Kroup had a career-high 24 digs for the Pioneers.

Utica will open up Empire 8 Conference play on the road Tuesday as it takes on Hartwick College. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
