BATAVIA – The Fulton-Montgomery Community College women’s volleyball team won all three of its matches during pod play at Genesee Community College on Saturday.
In its first match, FMCC defeated Monroe in four sets by scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-12 and 25-12. In their second match, the Raiders defeated Finger Lakes in three sets by scores of 26-16, 25-14 and 26-20. In the final match, FMCC defeated Genesee by scores of 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, and 25-21.
The Lady Raiders are now 13-0 in the region.
“The ladies played together today against some tough teams,” FMCC coach Rachael Salvione said. “They remain sharp and focused on the goals that we set at the beginning of the year. I couldn’t ask for more dedication and commitment from this team.”
Emily Orminski finished her day with 41 assists, 24 kills, 20 digs, eight blocks and seven aces for the Raiders, while Gabrielle Smith had 81 assists, 14 digs, 13 aces and two kills. Miranda Nethaway posted 39 kills 12 blocks, four digs and two aces for FMCC, Bri Eagan had 25 kills, 13 blocks, seven digs, four assists and three aces, and Jenna Putnam had 29 digs, 24 kills, eight aces and two blocks. Brittany Orminski registered 64 digs, three aces, two kills for the Raiders, Megan Ryder had 34 digs, 13 kills and three blocks, Gianna Cruz had five kills, five blocks and four digs, and Ruvelyn Marrero added 11 digs and three aces.
FMCC will travel to Mohawk Valley Community College on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.
