ROCHESTER – The Utica College volleyball team ran into stiff competition Saturday at the RIT invitational as it fell to Brockport and St. John Fisher, each by a score of 3-0.

Against St. John Fisher, Andreana Kroup, a Gloversville graduate, had 15 digs.

Kroup also led the Pioneers with 15 digs in the match, marking the ninth time this season she has recorded 10 of more digs in a single match.

UTICA – The Utica College volleyball team dropped both games of its Empire 8 Conference pod Saturday as it fell to Nazareth College 3-0 and Alfred University 3-1.

Nazareth cruised to a three-set victory in the opening game of the day as it won 25-15, 25-9, and 25-12. Utica got out to a quick start in the second match as it took the first set 25-23, before Alfred countered to win the next three sets (25-22, 25-21, 25-14).

Gloversville graduate Andreana Kroup, a junior at Utica, had 17 digs on the day for the Pioneers.

Utica (5-20 overall) is scheduled to travel to Rochester next weekend for the RIT Tournament.
