AMSTERDAM — The Amsterdam wrestling team sent wrestlers to the Andersen Memorial Tournament at Cicero-North Syracuse High School and the Bulldog Invitational at Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Saturday.
At the Andersen Memorial Tournament, Daniel Montalvo (120 pounds) was second, Nick Rodecker (126) was fifth and Francisco Alejandro (285) was sixth.
Baldwinsville won the team title with 180 points, while Spencerport was second with 173.5 points. Amsterdam was 12th with 52 points.
At the Bulldog Invitational, Brennan Rivas won at 120 pounds for Amsterdam
Tyler Krakow (113) and Robert Boyer (182) both placed fourth for the Rams, while Jacob Garcia (145), Matt Johnson (160) and Pedro Burgado (195) placed fifth. Chris Lent (138) was sixth for Amsterdam.
Fonda-Fultonville’s Justin Kearns (99) and Nate Rose (285) finished second, while Clane Newcomer (132) was third. Jaden Nole (113) was fifth for the Braves, while Justin Newcomer (152) and Chris Hernigle (220) were sixth.
Catskill won the team title with 244 points, while host Berne-Knox-Westerlo was second with 217 points. Fonda-Fultonville was seventh with 116 points, while Amsterdam was eighth with 103 points.
