Boys Lacrosse Roundup: Cambridge cruises past Johnstown in Wasaren League contest, 14-2

JOHNSTOWN — Maxwell Hoffer finished with five goals and four assists to lead Cambridge to a 14-2 victory over Johnstown in a Wasaren League boys lacrosse game at Knox Field on Saturday.

Max Ratelle posted two goals and two assists for the Indians, while Gabe Sgambettera scored three goals.

Zach Rowland and Jonas Butz each scored two goals for Cambridge, while Christian Hunt made five saves in goal.

Garrett Way and David Hopkins scored for Johnstown (0-3 overall, 0-3 Wasaren), which is scheduled to travel to Maple Hill on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. contest.


Troy 8, Amsterdam 1

AMSTERDAM — Troy posted a victory over Amsterdam in a non-league contest at Lynch Literacy Academy.

Anthony Barone scored the lone goal for Amsterdam.

Jesse Kellogg made 19 saves for the Rams (0-1 overall), who are slated to travel to Voorheesville on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. game.
