FMCC softball swept by HVCC

JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College softball team slipped to 1-5 overall after losing both ends of its doubleheader with Hudson Valley Community College on Thursday.

The Lady Raiders lost the first game, 13-2, and the second game, 11-2.

In the first game, Kaitlin DelSignore had a double, two singles, three runs scored and an RBI for the Vikings.

Cheyanne Mandigo had a double, single, two runs scored and an RBI for HVCC, while Chelsea Stevens and Paige Roberts each had two hits. Ashley Pulcher had a double and three RBIs for the Vikings, while Hannah Johnson smacked a triple.

Julie Hampton and Emily Towne each had two hits for FMCC, while Miranda Nethway added a double.

In the second game, Johnson had a triple, double, single and three RBIs to lead HVCC to the victory.

Mandigo had a triple, two singles and three runs scored for the Vikings, Stevens had two hits and DelSignore had a triple and a single. Alyssa Ellis and Elizabeth Brooking each had doubles for HVCC.

Hampton went 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double and scored both runs for FM. Towne had another two-hit game. Gabrielle Smith, Miranda Nethaway, and Allysa Gelina each had a hit for the Raiders.

FMCC is scheduled to host Corning Community College Sunday in a doubleheader. The first game is slated to begin at noon.
