Girls Lacrosse Roundup: Strong second half lifts Lady Bills past Glens Falls, 15-7

JOHNSTOWN — After leading 5-4 at the half, the Johnstown girls lacrosse team outscored Glens Falls 10-3 in the second half to post a 15-7 Foothills Council victory at Knox Field on Friday.

Kaitlyn Serpa had five goals and an assist to lead the Lady Bills, while Maddie Etherton had two goals.

Abbie Hollister, Rachel Lee, Mango Delgado and Sam Simon all scored once for Johnstown, while Amber Tesi added an assist.

Phoebe Fox scored three goals to lead Glens Falls, while Sarah Blow had two goals and an assist. Taylor Wooley also scored twice for the Indians, while Grace Gohn added an assist.

Emily Wheelis made 10 saves for the Lady Bills, while Kasi Johnson made 12 saves for the Indians.

Johnstown (4-5 overall, 4-5 Foothills) is scheduled to host Greenwich on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Schuylerville 21, Amsterdam 0

SCHUYLERVILLE — Schuylerville outscored Amsterdam 16-0 in the first half on its way to a shutout victory in a Foothills Council contest.

Amy Moreau scored six goals and had an assist for the Black Horses, while Morgan Gunter had three goals and three assists.

Grace Hanehan finished with three goals for Schuylerville, and Alison Burnham had three goals and an assist.

Cassie Patrick and Alexa Goldenberg each had two goals and an assist for the Black Horses, Hailey Abruscato had a goal and an assist and Rachael VanKeuren also scored.

Brooke Carpenter finished with two saves to post the shutout in goal for Schuylerville.

Paige Bertuch made 20 saves for Amsterdam (1-10 overall, 0-10 Foothills).
