H.S. Softball Roundup: Gloversville blanked by Scotia, 17-0

GLOVERSVILLE — Grace Purvis pitched a two-hitter to lead Scotia-Glenville to a 17-0 victory over Gloversville in a Foothills Council South Division softball game Monday.

Purvis also had a double, three singles and four RBIs for the Lady Tartans, who improved to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in Foothills Council play.

Lauren Zeglen had a triple and two singles for Scotia-Glenville, while Laura Meade had three singles and an RBI.

Lauren Sill added two singles for the Lady Tartans.

Gloversville (1-2 overall, 1-2 Foothills) is scheduled to travel to Johnstown today for a 7 p.m. contest.

SCHUYLERVILLE — Winning pitcher Lauren Kelleher went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs to power Schuylerville to a Foothills Council victory over Johnstown.

Kelleher struck out five and allowed just one hit to earn the complete-game victory.

Hunter VanArnum went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for the Black Horses, who improved to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in Foothills Council play.

Johnstown (2-3 overall, 1-3 Foothills) is slated to host Gloversville today at 7 p.m.
