H.S. Softball Roundup: Lady Rams get past Queensbury

AMSTERDAM — Megan Lamont, Michaela Kelly and Michaela Rust each had two hits and an RBI to lead Amsterdam to a 9-2 victory over Queensbury in a Foothills Council softball game Wednesday.

The Lady Rams improved to 5-7 overall and 4-4 in Foothills play.

Jasmin Pepe, Karley Hertzner, Justice Colvin and Cora Streets all had two hits for Queensbury (4-5 overall, 3-4 Foothills).

Glens Falls 16, Gloversville 1

GLENS FALLS — Haylee Lefebvre and Emma Chrzanowski combined for a two-hitter to lead Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Gloversville.

Lefebvre also had a home run and two RBIs for Glens Falls (4-4 overall, 3-4 Foothills), while Kennedy Guy was 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs.

Taylor Scarincio had two hits and three RBIs for the Indians, Steph Meehan was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Felicity Williams had a double and Mattie Benway added a triple.

Michaela Ponticello was 1-for-3 for Gloversville (1-5 overall, 1-5 Foothills).

BROADALBIN — Amber Bourdeau pitched a no-hitter to lead South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Broadalbin-Perth.

Bourdeau struck out 10 and walked two in five innings of work. She also went 4-for-4 with a triple, four RBIs and three runs scored.

Sarah Powers was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for the Bulldogs, while Madison Capozucca and Kasen Lerney each had two hits.

Broadalbin-Perth slipped to 0-8 overall and 0-8 in Foothills Council play with the loss.

SCHUYLERVILLE — Lauren Kelleher hit an RBI single to help Schuylerville to a Foothills Council victory over Scotia-Glenville.

Hunter VanArnum had a double for the Black Horses, who improved to 6-3 overall and 6-1 in Foothills play.

Kelly Mayette had a two-run single for the Tartans (7-2 overall, 5-2 Foothills), while Grace Purvis had two singles.

CANAJOHARIE — Jenna Shepard went 4-for-5 with a double, home run and three RBIs to lift Canajoharie to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

Seven players had multiple hits as part of an 18-hit effort by the Lady Cougars.

Mackenzie Bowerman and Kylee Rickard each had three hits for Canajoharie (6-1 overall, 4-1 WAC while Hannah Smith, Madison Koelbl, Monica Hartlieb and Alyssa Nestle all had two hits.

Fontana LaCoppola and Caitlin Handy both had two hits for OESJ (1-7 overall, 1-4 WAC). LaCoppola had a double and two RBIs.

GALWAY — Emma Smith finished with a single, two doubles, a triple and six RBIs to power Galway to a WAC victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Matisha Kenyon had two hits, three runs scored and four RBIs for Galway (3-5 overall, 2-4 WAC), while Britney Kenyon had two hits and three runs scored.

Amber Schwab had two singles, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Golden Eagles. She also earned the win, allowing two hits.

Caitlyn Bianchi and Laura Simpson each had singles for Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Johnsburg 8, Wells 7, 8 innings

JOHNSBURG — Ryan Riedinger plated the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Johnsburg to a Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference victory over Wells.

Khaleah Cleveland had a two-run home run for Johnsburg, while Taylor Dwyer had three hits. Megan Bacon added two hits for the Jaguars.

Rebekah Weaver, Dallas Erb and Jocelyn Scribner all had two hits for Wells (0-2 overall, 0-2 MVAC). Joyellen Trezise added a double for the Lady Indians, who are scheduled to host Schroon Lake/Bolton on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
