AMSTERDAM — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College baseball team wrapped up its season Thursday by splitting a doubleheader with Jefferson Community College at Shuttleworth Park.
The Raiders lost the first game, 7-5, before winning the second game, 14-13.
In game one, FMCC led 5-3 heading into the seventh inning, but Jefferson battled to score four runs in the seventh for the victory. Kyle Agresta took the loss for FMCC. He pitched seven innings, allowing seven runs, and 10 hits, and striking out six. FMCC had seven hits in the contest and Paul VanWarner led the Raiders with three hits. Ryan Cullam had two hits and an RBI for Raiders, Jake Petralia slammed a two-run home run over the left field fence. Coby Caraballo followed with one hit and Agresta also collected an RBI for FMCC.
In game two, Agresta’s walkoff single in the seventh inning secured the 14-13 victory for FMCC. The Raiders got behind 8-0 heading into the fourth inning, but they kept chipping away. Their big inning came in the sixth inning when they crossed the plate seven times. FMCC pounded out 12 hits in the nightcap. Agresta, Cullam, Richard Umholtz, Petralia, Brogan Barker and VanWarner all had two hits for the Raiders. Agresta and Umholtz each had four RBIs.
FMCC finished its season with a 12-20 overall record.
