H.S. Baseball Roundup: Mayfield defeats Mekeel Christian

MAYFIELD — Hunter Young finished with three RBIs to lead Mayfield to a 12-5 victory over Mekeel Christian Academy in a Western Athletic Conference baseball game Monday.

Danny Ellis had two RBIs for Mayfield (11-5 overall, 7-5 WAC), while Brian Graf had a double and an RBI.

INDIAN LAKE — Ty Earley went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a triple to lead Wells to a Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference game.

Austin Pierce was 2-for-4 with a double for Wells (1-7 overall, 1-7 MVAC), while Matt Speece added a double.

Yataro Maruta had a double for Indian Lake-Long Lake.

NEWPORT — Bailey Chapin had a triple and an RBI to lead West Canada Valley to a victory over Dolgeville.

The Indians scored five of their six runs in the fifth inning.

Matt Tobin had a double for West Canada Valley, while Connor Maxwell and Cade Smith each had singles.

Dylan Walrath was 2-for-3 for Dolgeville (9-4 overall), while Jacob Darling and Garret Sullivan each had a single and two RBIs.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Terel Tillman finished with a single, two doubles and three RBIs to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a non-league victory over Galway.

Cadhan McFadden went 3-for-3 for Saratoga Catholic (18-2 overall), while also earning the victory on the mound. McFadden scattered eight hits in five innings. Kaden Learch was 3-for-3 for the Saints.

Sam Uline had three singles for Galway (13-5 overall), while Graham Willbrant added a double, single and an RBI. James Hoffman added two hits for the Golden Eagles.
