Ruggeri earns All-American bowling honor

SCHENECTADY — Johnstown High School graduate Morgan Ruggeri was named to the 2016-17 NJCAA Women’s Bowling All-America Team at the Women’s Bowling Championships in March at Airport Lanes in Cheektowaga.

Ruggeri, a sophomore member of the Schenectady County Community College team, won the All-Events competition with 2,279 total pins and teamed with Jessica Shufelt to win the doubles championship with 1,148 pins.

SCCC won the team championship over Suffolk County 12,390-11,831. Iowa Central was third with 11,564, followed by Illinois’ Highland with 11,432 and Schoolcraft of Michigan with 10,768 total pins.
