Mohawks fall short at Geneva, 9-7

GENEVA — Joseph Tassin had a two-run home run to help Geneva to a 9-7 victory over Amsterdam in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game Saturday at McDonough Park.

Tassin finished with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Red Wings, while Justin Etts had a double and two RBIs. Matt Chamberlain and Will Simoneit each had a double and an RBI for Geneva (9-4 overall).

Danny Coleman had a home run, single, two RBIs and two runs scored for Amsterdam, while Alex Kashgarian added a triple. Dan Maynard had a single and a double for the Mohawks, while Liam Wilson was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

Amsterdam (6-5) overall is scheduled to travel to Glens Falls today for a 7 p.m. contest at East Field.

Geneva is slated to travel to Utica today for a 6:30 p.m. game against the Blue Sox.
