Mohawks roll past Saugerties

SAUGERTIES — TJ Collett finished 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored to power Amsterdam to a 9-3 victory over Saugerties in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest Saturday at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field.

Collett’s effort included a home run and a double to help the Mohawks register their eighth straight victory.

Liam Wilson had a double, single and three RBIs for the Mohawks, while Eric Rivera had two singles and scored three runs.

Will Holland added a double and two RBIs for Amsterdam, which led 4-1 after six innings before scoring twice in the eighth and three times in the ninth to seal the win.

Matt Feinstein had a double, single and two RBIs for Saugerties, while Austin Powell had two singles. Patrick Lagravinese added a triple for the Stallions.

Johnstown graduate Joe Nellis pitched a scoreless inning of relief for Saugerties, striking out one and allowing no hits.

After an off day today, Amsterdam (14-6 overall) is scheduled to travel to Utica on Monday for a 6:35 p.m.

Saugerties (10-8 overall) also is off today and is scheduled to travel to Little Falls on Monday for a 6:35 p.m. contest against Mohawk Valley.
